This property was built 5 years ago. It is in the heart of Long Island City, has many of the amenities of the luxury buildings by the water, but is more affordable. We have lived here for three years and just renewed our lease for a fourth, when my husband received a job offer in a different city. We appreciate its proximity to Manhattan, Greenpoint/Williamsburg and Astoria. G, E, M and 7 trains are all within 5-7 minutes walking distance. There are many restaurants in the area, as well as affordable and good grocery stores.
The building has a gym, washer and dryer, central heat, a virtual doorman, bike storage and a roof-top; you can get a spot in the garage or extra storage room in the basement at additional cost. The super lives in the house and the few times we needed small repairs he took care of them within 1-2 days.
The apartment is a spacious 1 bedroom (a bit short of 700 square feet). It has a lot of natural light throughout the day. Kitchen and bathroom are less than 5 years old. We bought our furniture 3-4 years ago and can leave them in the apartment, if the new tenant would prefer that, at no additional cost (otherwise we will remove them).
