This is a rent stabilized unit, so you are guaranteed a renewal if you so choose. There is a new law in NYC about freezing rent with a renewal through the end of 2016; the original renewal price is $1445, but you must speak with management about this further. I only know how this law pertains to me, as the current tenant.
