SUITE DESCRIPTION
The Rear Library Suite is a bright suite located in our historic townhouse on East 62nd Street between Park and Lexington Avenues. Measuring approximately 345 square feet (32 m²), the apartment includes a main living and sleeping room with a queen bed, sitting area, small work area, en-suite bathroom, and a separate kitchenette room.

Three large south-facing windows overlook the Garden Room terrace, neighboring townhouse gardens, and a tucked-away carriage house beyond. Upper floors of nearby Midtown buildings, including the Bloomberg building and International Plaza tower, are visible in the distance.

The suite retains many original townhouse details, including oak parquet floors, a decorative marble fireplace, built-in bookshelves, and 10-foot ceilings. Furnishings include a sofa, coffee table, dining table and chairs, bureau, armoire, and limited closet storage typical of older Manhattan buildings.

Kitchenette
The compact kitchenette is designed for light cooking and basic meal preparation and includes:
• Full-size sink
• Apartment-size refrigerator with freezer
• Four-burner gas stove with oven
• Microwave and toaster oven
• Electric kettle and French press coffee maker
• Basic cookware, utensils, and dishware

Bathroom
The en-suite bathroom includes:
• Pedestal sink
• Tiled shower with glass enclosure (no bathtub)
• Double-door entry layout

Things to Know
• The suite is located two flights up (36 stairs / 3rd floor in U.S. terms) with no elevator.
• Storage space is limited, as is common in older NYC apartments.
• Cleaning supplies, fan, vacuum, and portable A/C unit are stored within the suite.

ADDITIONAL HOME TRUTHS:
• Located near the Lexington Avenue–59 Street and 63rd Street subway stations, the apartment has access to the E, F, Q, N, R, and W lines. The surrounding neighborhood includes Central Park, museums, restaurants, grocery stores, shopping, and several major hospitals.
• As with most centrally located Manhattan buildings, guests should expect occasional city noise, including traffic, sirens, construction, and activity from neighboring buildings. Rooms at the rear of the house tend to be quieter than those facing the street, though apartments with both front and back exposures may experience a mix of city and courtyard sounds.
• Fireplaces are original to the historic house but are decorative only and may not be used.
• The apartments do not come equipped with an intercom or buzzer system. Typically, visitors are met at the door and let in directly by the guest.
• Wi-Fi supports basic work-from-home needs but not heavy downloads. The suite does not include cable TV, but a TV is provided with a ROKU device for streaming Netflix, Amazon Prime, or other TV apps through subscription. Guests must have their own username and password to access fee-based programming.
• There is no in-house laundry, but guests have access to numerous wash-and-fold services nearby, many of which offer free pickup and delivery with 24-hour turnaround.
• Pets are not permitted.
• The charming, late 1800s townhouse is not a modern structure – think creaky floorboards and sloping wood floors.
• This home was built in 1871, so there are signs of wear.

Other info

Thank you for considering a stay with us. We're a small family-run business offering a unique experience that blends the charm of a historic brownstone with the vibrant energy of New York City.

To ensure a great stay for all, we ask that guests review our policies before booking.

Our rates reflect the value of a prime-location, furnished extended-stay rental. While we don’t offer standard discounts for monthly or long-term stays, last-minute discounts may be available on our Airbnb listings—feel free to contact us for links.

Please note, our late-1800s townhouse retains much of its original character, which includes signs of age and may not meet all accessibility needs. There is no buzzer or intercom, so guests must coordinate directly with delivery services. Some city noise is to be expected due to our central location.

We’re unable to accommodate pets, and there is no on-site laundry. However, several nearby laundry and dry-cleaning services offer convenient pickup and delivery.

Lastly, your host resides on the premises.

We look forward to welcoming you and hope you enjoy your stay!
