A “room for rent” means a renter is offering a private bedroom within a shared apartment. You’ll have at least one roommate, sometimes more, and while your bedroom is private, the kitchen, living room, and often the bathroom are shared—though some listings do include a private bathroom. Rooms can be furnished, unfurnished, or available either way, and on Leasebreak they may be offered as lease assignments, sublets, short-term rentals, or even standard 12-month leases.
