Property Details

Hello, I hope you are all safe and healthy! I've been planning for a while to move out of my apartment in order to live with some good friends, but the person who was going to take over can't come anymore to New York. I'm looking for someone to move in ASAP for April.

The unit is a 2-bedroom, 1 bathroom, but my roommate has left the city, so you effectively would be getting a whole 1-bedroom apartment for the price of just my room. That means a private bathroom, with a kitchen and living room that you don't have to share! The living space is especially lovely, and is more like two rooms than one. I'll leave behind a couch and twin size bed. The whole building was renovated last summer, and we were the first tenants to move in afterwards. Beautiful hardwood floors, brick wall in living room, high ceilings. Your room is spacious enough for a queen size bed, has two windows and a big closet for storage, and is very quiet.

The apartment is on Park Place and Franklin Avenue, 2nd floor. You're on the border between Prospect Heights and Crown Heights, and just a few minutes away from Prospect Park. I've lived in several different neighborhoods, and this, by far, has been my favorite. Neighbors are kind and always help me when I'm struggling with the gate in one hand and bike in the other (some of us leave our bikes locked outside on our patio and have no problems). I first moved here because of the amazing commute (2,3,4,5 about 5 minutes away; C about 10 minutes away; S shuttle literally across the street; plenty of busses criss-crossing through), but have come to love the whole vibe of this cute corner of Brooklyn.

You'll be taking over my side of the lease, so the upfront cost would be:

$1,300 security deposit

$1,600 first month rent

Landlord says no pets are allowed. The lease expires at the end of July, with option to renew. I'm a terrible photographer so the photos here, which are from when I first moved in, don't do justice, so I'd be happy to send a video.

The following is what I needed for my application, so my guess is you'll need these documents, too:

-Copy of ID & SSC
- Most three (3) recent pay stubs
- Most recent bank statement
- Copy of 2018 W2 & Tax return
- Current receipts (if applicable)

As for my roommate, she's an MFA student but her whole semester got cancelled. It's highly unlikely that she'll return, but she will continue to pay for her room until the end of the lease. Her belongings are still in her room, so she's not really comfortable letting someone else use her room. So effectively, this is a 1-bedroom apartment for yourself for $1,600/month + utilities.
